Description
In this class you will learn the foundations of how to write, deliver, and develop yourself and your jokes into a standup comedy set that’s your own. This class is designed for both people new to standup comedy and anyone wanting to apply unique perspectives and recommended best practices from an experienced instructor. The class is 6 weeks, each week building on the previous and adding complementary development. At the end (April 29, 2026 from 7-8:30pm) there will be a showcase where students will perform their new 5 minute set. NOTE: Classes will be held on March 7, 14, 21 and April 11, 18, and 25; there will be no class on March 28 or April 4. Please note that anyone who is signing up for a class is also agreeing to the House Rules. Prerequisites: Must be 18 years or older to take this class (NO EXCEPTIONS). Cancellation Policy
ComedyWorx will fully refund any registration for a class when the class is canceled by ComedyWorx or if ComedyWorx makes a change to the dates that prevents a previously registered person from attending. The participant may also request that the registration be transferred to a future session if it is for a recurring class. If a person registered for a class requests a refund for reasons other than changes made by ComedyWorx, and does so at least two days prior to the starting day of the class, ComedyWorx will refund the registration amount minus incurred credit card processing fees. The participant may also request that the registration be transferred to a future session if it is for a recurring class. If a request for a refund is received less than two days prior to the starting day of the class, ComedyWorx will refund the registration fee minus a $70 charge for costs incurred. If a person registered for a class does not attend the first two sessions and does not contact the instructor, ComedyWorx will automatically refund the registration fee minus a $70 charge for costs incurred. If a person registered for a class attends the first and/or second class session and then needs to drop the class, the person will receive a pro-rated refund minus a $70 charge for costs incurred. There are no refunds for people wanting to drop a class after the third session. Partial class attendance "credits" cannot be transferred to a future class session.
