Capital City Culture Club

A one-of-a-kind show that combines storytelling with improv. We invite local celebrities to tell true stories about their lives, careers, families, and so much more. Then our cast takes details from those stories as inspiration for scenes. It’s the perfect combination of truth, heart, and a little mischief.

GUEST MONOLOGIST: Emily Kotecki

Throughout her career, Emily has explored storytelling in various forms: as a museum educator, podcaster, and featured storyteller at The Monti. Emily owns a consulting firm called High Beam Strategies that works with cultural organizations such as the Smithsonian, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and House of European History. She has hosted several podcasts, including the Microsoft Libraries and Museums Podcast as well as her own show called Museum Buzz where she and a guest break down museum jargon through conversation and games. She is very excited to explore this new form of storytelling with the Capital City Culture Club. Emily owns a consulting firm focused on digital learning in museums and lives in Raleigh with her husband and two kids.
